Less Strict   I had it tougher than my younger siblings. I was never able to get away with anything, yet, that’s all my younger siblings seem to do. I asked some of my friends who also have younger siblings, and they seem to agree. What are the consequences of parents being less strict with the younger children? One of the consequences of being less strict with the younger children is that they might become more rebellious than their older siblings. Because they might not have the same constraints, they might feel like they can get away with a lot of things, which can lead them to participate in bad behaviors. Another consequence is that they might end up taking advantage of their parents. They might manipulate the parents and have them counter argue about something, or lie about what they do. Another consequence is that the parents might slowly lose control over their children. Because the parents might not have shown their full power and control that they can have over the...

Being The Oldest

Being the oldest out of 5 comes with A LOT of responsibility in terms of helping around the house and helping my parents with my younger siblings. My parents have always been away from home a lot because of their jobs. We were always taken care of by my grandma or my aunt. But now that I'm older, I'm basically the one who looks over my younger siblings while they're gone. Between college, work, and helping around the house and my younger siblings (especially because the two youngest are two and four years old), it can get overwhelming. Recently, my 4 year old sister started her first day of school, and I was just as excited as she was. And in a couple months, I'll get to see my one of my brothers graduate from high school and head to his training for the US National Guard, and the other grad...

My Art Is On Display!

Image
I just recently found out from a friend who still goes to the high school I graduated from that one of my art pieces is on display! Every year, the AP Art teacher chooses the top 10 art pieces from different artist who show their technique effectively to display in a case located in the main hallway of the school. Out of almost 50 students, I was one of those students chosen! This just shows how wrong I was about my art. In AP Art, students choose a concentration and from that concentration, they draw 24 different pieces that portray that concentration or concept. I chose, and I know it sounds lame, details of fruits and vegetables. Because I thought no one would really like my concept, I always thought that my pieces wouldn't be eye catching. I went all of AP Art doubting myself and my pieces, but this just shows that my art pieces had just as much potential as everyone else's. Now my 'Dragonfruit' art piece (done with colored pencil) is on display and will be returned...
